Scouting provides skills for life to young people aged 6-25yrs. They are split into sections based on age: Beaver Scouts (6-8yr), Cub Scouts (8-10½ yr), Scouts (10½-14yrs), Explorer Scouts (14-18yr) and Scouts Network (18-25yr).
Beavers
1st Easingwold Beavers meet Tuesdays 18:00 -19:15 in term time.
They take part in a wide range of activities including games, crafts, singing, visits and good turns, along with plenty of outdoor activities.
They will also have the opportunity to take part in the fun and excitement of camps and sleepovers. It may be the first time they spend a night away from home so it’s a real adventure for them.
Joining
Earlier entry is at the Beaver Scout Leader's discretion (for example, to allow someone a little bit younger to join at the same time as their friends). The Group does have a waiting list, joining is based on age.
Structure
A group of Beavers is called a Colony and each Colony can be split up into smaller groups called Lodges.
Beavers have a Promise and Motto but there is not a Beaver Scout Law. The concepts of the Scout Law should be presented to Beavers through games, storytelling and other informal devices.
