Cubs

Scouting provides skills for life to young people aged 6-25yrs.  They are split into sections based on age: Beaver Scouts (6-8yr), Cub Scouts (8-10½ yr), Scouts (10½-14yrs), Explorer Scouts (14-18yr) and Scouts Network (18-25yr).

Cubs

1st Easingwold Cubs meet every Monday between 18:30 - 20:00 in term time.  Meetings are divided between two locations in the Easingwold area throughout the year.

We take part in a wide range of activities including games, sports, crafts, team-building exercises, visits and community service, along with plenty of outdoor activities.

Cubs also take part in annual community events such as Remembrance Day, St. George's Day and Bonfire Night.

Cubs also have the opportunity to take part in the fun and excitement of camps and sleepovers.  It may be the first time they spend a night away from home so it’s a real adventure for them.

Joining

The Cub pack does have a waiting list, joining is based on age.  Those children who are already enrolled within the Scouting Movement  (e.g. Easingwold Beavers) will automatically progress to Cubs at a suitable point following their 8th birthday.

Structure

A group of Cubs is called a Pack and each Pack can be split up into smaller groups called Sixes.
Cubs have a Promise and Motto and a Scout Law.  The concepts of the Scout Law should be presented to Cubs through games, storytelling and other informal devices.

Leaders

There are currently two leaders who take their names from Jungle Book characters.  Akela is the leader of the Cub pack and Bagheera is her assistant.
