Group & Trustee Board

Give a little time and build Skills for Life.

Executive Committees are now known as Trustee Boards.  Each scout group is a charity in its own right and, as such, has to be managed by a Board of Trustees comprising as a minimum, a Chair, Treasurer and Secretary.  The Trustee Board is there to ensure that a) the charity operates according to the requirements of the Charity Commission of England and Wales and b) the scout leaders have all the facilities and resources needed to run an exciting and educational activity program across its sections.

The program is designed to help the children achieve their badges and progress towards bronze, silver and gold awards as they grow and develop acquiring lots of skills as they go through the age groups.  New trustees are always welcome especially if you have skills such as financial management, social media management and communication skills but enthusiasm is also very important.  However, in order to be a Charity Trustee, you must be able to meet the Trustee requirements of the Charity Commission as defined on their website.  The current trustees of Easingwold Scout Group are:

Nick Higgins: Chair

Carl Bilson: Treasurer

Sue Scotter: Secretary

Caroline Procter: Co-opted member

Peter Jackson: District Explorer Lead Volunteer

Katriona Thorn: Member

David Waring: District Training Manager

Vacancy: Group Volunteer Lead (formerly known as Group Scout Leader (GSL))

Where are we?

We are very lucky to have two scouting facilities, one in town centre on Chase Garth Road (YO61 3GG) and one outdoor centre just outside of town on Dawney Lane (YO61 3NN). These are both available for hire.
